Our Company History

Lindsey Electric, Inc. began in 1971 as founder Bernie Lindsey decided it was time to form his own company after many years of slowly growing his business by working nights and weekends.  He had a dream of providing top-notch service for residential customers, and his daughter remembers those early days of how excited her dad was about the prospect of forming Lindsey Electric, Inc.  This same enthusiasm continued up until his passing in 2010.  The company is now in the capable hands of his wife Catherine, daughter Lori, son Michael, and son-in-law Nicholas who enjoy working each day with their family.



Our Staff

Catherine Lindsey
President

Catherine (Kay) is president and part owner of Lindsey Electric, Inc.  Throughout the company’s history, Kay supported husband Bernie in the business.  In the early days, she worked alongside Bernie, taking care of billing, receivables, and payroll all while raising 4 children and being a homemaker.  She still works on the administrative side and is involved with operations.


Lori Lindsey-Von Behren
Corporate Secretary

Lori is the corporate secretary and is the personable voice you hear on the other end of the line when you call Lindsey Electric.  Lori began working for her dad just out of college and has been with the company ever since.  She performs many administrative duties to keep the business running smoothly, but daily she schedules service calls, does the accounting and payroll, and keeps the Lindsey Electric team on track. 

J. Michael Lindsey
Vice President

Michael started working at the family business when he was just 14 during his summer months off of school.  He would frequently go out on calls with the electricians, learning first-hand about the electrical trade.  After graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1991 from Southern Illinois University—Carbondale, Michael went to work full-time for Lindsey Electric, Inc. and is now the vice president and estimator.  His work includes deciphering blueprints to create proposals, purchasing materials, and providing supervision over all electrical jobs. 


Nicholas Von Behren
Director & Field Electrician

Nick began his career with Lindsey Electric in 1991, and is married to Lori.  He is the director for the business and has extensive years of experience.  He works in the field running the larger projects.
